A client of Tank Jowett Solicitors has been unanimously acquitted of Section 18 Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH) with Intent and the alternative charge of Section 20 Inflicting Grievous Bodily Harm, following a two-week trial at Wood Green Crown Court.
The case involved serious allegations, with the Prosecution relying on multiple strands of evidence, including:
- Forensic DNA evidence said to link the defendant to a blood-stained glass bottle
- Medical evidence relating to the complainant’s fractured jaw
- Civilian witness testimony
- Bad character evidence presented before the jury
Despite the weight of the Prosecution’s case, the defendant consistently maintained that he had not committed any assault.
Following detailed legal submissions and careful consideration of the evidence, the jury returned not guilty verdicts on all counts after approximately nine hours of deliberation.
This result highlights the importance of robust criminal defence strategy, particularly in cases involving serious violence allegations, forensic evidence, and complex evidential issues.
The case was overseen by Partner Adnan Hussain, together with Sean Moyo and Olivia Chessell of 2 DR Johnsons Chambers representing the client in court.
